noun re·sil·ience \ri-ˈzil-yən(t)s\
the ability to become strong, healthy, or successful again after something bad happens
~ Merriam-Webster Dictionary
This has been my go to word lately. I must come out of this a stronger person, even though at times I feel like I’m drowning in overwhelming anxiety and sorrow. The outpouring of love and friendship has been a true lifesaver… a lifesaving buoy amidst the raging flood waters.
I wrote an acrostic poem of encouragement for all out there enduring hardship:
Refuse to cave in
Even when all seems too much.
Sometimes the next painful breath
Let the past move you forward
Instead of choking from behind.
Embrace all you hold dear;
Never let go.
Choose your battles wisely;
Endure with tomorrow’s horizon in view.
